Prepare Yourself: 3 Planets Are Going Into Retrograde This Month

Buckle up, baby, because there’s a lot going on in the universe in April.

For starters, three planets—Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn—are all going retrograde. That’ll make you mull over the things you haven’t done yet (and try to figure out how to get sh*t started, already). On top of that, this means a lot of different things are happening at once.

Jupiter is all about making sure you don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do, Pluto is big on empowerment, and Saturn is about being realistic. You’ll be tempted to push “time out” on your life, but that’s a little tough when all of this is going on.

If that triple retrograde doesn’t inspire you to up your productivity, the new moon in Aries on the 5th makes you want to tackle a bunch of tasks and do them ASAP. Later, on the 20th, the Sun moves into Taurus and Venus moves into Aries, stirring up an urge to go for your goals. This month is all about doing, so make a checklist and start tackling it.

Here’s what else is in store for you this month, according to Donna Page, a certified astrologer in Atlanta.

ARIES (MARCH 21–APRIL 19)

This is your month, Aries. You’ll be all kinds of confident when the new moon happens in your sign on the 5th. Want something done at work? You’ll get it—and you won’t take no for an answer—which can lead to bigger and better things for you down the road.

When Venus moves into your sign on the 20th, it stirs up a sweet energy for you, sending you all kinds of “gifts” from the universe. Suddenly that perfect wear-anywhere sun dress you’ve been hunting for materialises, and—gasp—it’s on sale. Revel in everything this month has in store for you, Aries. You deserve it.

TAURUS (APRIL 20–MAY 20)

This month, expect to take a much-needed timeout, Taurus. The new moon on the 5th makes you crave some serious **rejuvenation** and “me” time, so don’t hesitate to have a date with your couch.

Around this time, you’ll also start to dream about things you want to happen in your life. Yeah, winning the lottery is probs not in the cards (sorry), but there are other things you can do to reach your goals. The full moon on the 19th makes you crave a balance between what you actually need to do and what you want to do. Take some time to think on it—you’ll be surprised at what you come up with.

GEMINI (MAY 21–JUNE 20)

The new moon on the 5th is happening in your house of friendship, making you ready to just get out with your buddies and have fun. Try out a new restaurant together, hit up a club, or just host a girls’ night at your place. However you get together, it’s guaranteed to be a blast.

Jupiter is sending all kinds of personal cheerleaders your way this month. With the urging of friends and family, you’ll (finally) start to believe that you can apply for that job you want—and get it. When the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll be ready for a little relaxation. Sure, you probably overcommitted more times than you’d like, but you still need some solid downtime.

CANCER (JUNE 21–JULY 22)

You’ve got career on the brain this month, Cancer. The new moon on the 5th underscores that, after putting in your time and doing the grunt work, you only deserve the best at work. And that means you’re ready for what’s next.

Around the 10th, you’ll start to think about what else you can do to make yourself the best candidate when the next promotion opportunity or cool new job comes along. Maybe it’s time to take on that free training work has been offering up, after all. It’s not all work and no play, though. Around the 19th, you’ll start to rethink your work-life balance. Ultimately, you’ll throw a little more “me” time into the mix—you’re worth it.

LEO (JULY 23–AUGUST 22)

You’re ready to break out of your shell and shine this month, Leo. The new moon on the 5th is all about connecting with your inner confidence, so get out there and work it. Sure, you can dream all you want, but this month you’ll be focused on taking action.

Just make sure you keep yourself in check a little. Yeah, those gorgeous shoes were practically made for you, but are you going to be cool with your credit card bill when it finally comes in? When the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll be more focused on getting down to business at work. Long lunches are great and all, but now’s the time to make things happen.

VIRGO (AUGUST 23–SEPTEMBER 22)

Listen to your gut, Virgo—it won’t steer you wrong. The new moon on the 5th is in a section of your chart that’s super intuitive. Are people in your life actually going to do what they say, or are they just blowing smoke? You know the right answer deep down.

When the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll have an urge to start planning a zen-like vacation. But Mars, the planet of action, will pull you away from perusing pics of those spa retreats at work to zero in on what needs to be done for your career long-term. Put in your time now, and it’ll pay off big.

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23–OCTOBER 22)

The new moon on the 5th is opposite your sign, and it’s going to make you mull over how far you’ve come since your birthday. Have you done everything you said you would, or is there still room for improvement? You’ll have a serious urge to take on more over the next six months.

You’ll also find a new inner confidence and start dreaming even bigger. Nobody is going to keep you away from achieving your goals, Libra. Oh, and you’ll suddenly be able to speak your mind in a way you never have in the past. Sure, maybe not everyone will agree with what you have to say, but you’re totally okay with that.

SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23–NOVEMBER 21)

You don’t want to be tied down, Scorpio, and you’re not going to be—in any area of your life. Who’s to say you can’t make money doing what you love, or that you can’t move to a new city where you know no one? Anything is possible.

When the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll crave some serious “me” time. Don’t hesitate to turn down plans to get it. Btw, now is a great time to finally sign up for that new spin class at your gym you’ve been eyeing. It could become your new go-to.

SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22–DECEMBER 21)

Jupiter, your ruling planet, is stationing this month, making you feel super strong and confident. No one is going to tell you that you can’t live out your dreams, whether that’s finding the perfect place to live or the right job. Whatever dreams you decide to pursue, you’ll be living by the #noregrets motto.

When the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll feel a big push to get moving on things. Unfortunately, your laundry isn’t going to fold itself, but tackling annoying chores now means more time for way more exciting things soon enough.

CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22–JANUARY 19)

It’s time to try something new, Cap. The new moon on the 5th is in a sector of your chart about new beginnings, making it the perfect time to ditch old habits and dive into bigger and better ones.

Heads up: The full moon on the 19th is in a sector of your chart about work-life balance. Is yours solid, or is there room for improvement? Then, Mars, the planet of action, throws a little multitasking energy at you. Suddenly, you’ll be inspired to start juggling things in a new (and improved) way.

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20–FEBRUARY 18)

You’re going to call it like you see it, Aquarius, and it’s all thanks to the new moon on the 5th. Just be a little conscious of who you’re talking to. Most people can handle your bluntness, but sometimes, it can, uh, backfire.

You’ll be ready to get out and explore new things this month, so check out a cool neighbourhood near you or try that creative restaurant that just opened up. Expanding your horizons is never a bad thing. Then, when the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, you’ll feel a huge urge to spruce up your place. Don’t hesitate to splurge on a lil’ home décor. It’ll feel sooo good.

PISCES (FEBRUARY 19–MARCH 20)

Venus is hanging out in your sign until the 20th, sending all kinds of good things your way. Friends will insist on picking up the check, and you’ll suddenly score a sweet deal on those heels you’ve been eyeing for ages.

The new moon on the 5th gives you a boost in the confidence department, pushing you to try something new. Never thought you’d be good at playing the guitar? Maybe you just need a few lessons to get started. Later, Jupiter sends over strong vibes towards your career, making you feel more confident going after the things you want at work. Don’t let that courage go to waste.
