If “No Pets Allowed” are the three most dreaded words in your life, you need to read what we’re about to share with you. People who love pets, but aren’t allowed to have one find a no pet policy to be a deal breaker when renting apartments, visiting hotels or even forming new relationships! We love pets, too, so we totally feel your pain. But what if there’s a way for you to keep loving pets without having to actually own one full time? Would you be up for exploring the possibilities? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve come up with some pretty cool ways for you to still spend time with pets despite your temporary pet-free existence.
Volunteer at a Shelter
It is unbelievable the number of cats and dogs languishing in shelters right now. These poor darlings would love nothing more than for you to come take them for a walk, play with them, read to them or just hang out and get to know them better. You can even volunteer for special adoption events to help them find a furever home. Contact the ASPCA to find shelters and volunteer opportunities in your area.
Foster a Pet
If you’re petless because you can’t make a long-term commitment to an animal, but you honestly love pets, fostering a homeless cat or dog might be the perfect option for you. Just because you can’t have a pet for life right now, doesn’t mean you can’t have one at all. Temporarily sheltering of an animal goes a long way in keeping abused, abandoned and neglected pets alive and healthy!
Take Advantage of Cat Cafes
What started in Taiwan has now expanded to America and people who love pets are just thrilled! Cat cafes are part coffee shop and part cat heaven as you can enjoy your favorite beverages while cuddling with fuzzy cats and kittens. Whether you merely visit a cat cafe as a regular patron or are lucky enough to find work in such a purrfect establishment, cat cafes are the place to be for people who love pets.
Join Fetch! Pet Care
This isn’t just a shameless plug, but we’re rather proud to be a business catering to pets and the people who love them. By joining the Fetch! Pet Care team you get to walk dogs, care for cats and meet all sorts of other animals who are anxious to befriend people who love pets as much as you do. Seriously, just because you can’t have a pet full time, doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the endless love and pleasure pets bring to all of our lives!
