Dax Shepard Channels a ‘Harry Potter’ Character to Make His Daughters Laugh & The Comments Are Pure Magic

Spooky season may be upon us, but Dax Shepard is leaning into laughs instead. He recently donned his Halloween costume and gave a wicked impression of a Harry Potter character to his daughters’ delight — and we’re officially awarding him 10 points to Gryffindor for his performance!

Kristen Bell shared the video of the Armchair Expert podcast host on Instagram. “I asked @daxshepard to try on his Halloween costume to see the fit,” she captioned the video. “He immediately starting working on his Dumbledore impersonation.”

In the video, Shepard wears a floor-length sleeveless gown, not unlike the capes Dumbledore wore in the spellbinding series. “Welcome to Hogwarts,” Shepard says in a loud voice filled with bravado. “We’re here to get jacked!” he adds, while flexing his arms. His daughters, Delta, 8, and Lincoln, 10, can be heard laughing in the background of the video filmed by Bell.

“We’re also here to learn a little bit of magic, but not at the expense of getting jacked!” he continues in his over-the-top tone.

The Parenthood alum’s silliness was contagious because people took to the comments with the wittiest jokes. “’We’re here for two things dumbbells and spells and I’m all out of spells,’” one person wrote.

Another quipped, “ExpelliARMus 💪.” “DUMBBELL-DORE,” wrote another person.

“More like Lord Swoledemort,” someone else said.

Even Rachel Bilson commented, “😂😂😂.” We are crying laughing too, girl!

“Their little giggles watching dad be silly is just the best,” one person pointed out.

Shepard and Bell certainly know how to have fun with their daughters — and play the grossest pranks with each other! — but they also know how to have serious talks as well. After he relapsed in 2020 after being sober for 16 years, Shepard told his daughters all about it.

“When I relapsed we explained, ‘Well Daddy was on these pills for a surgery and then Daddy was a bad boy. He started getting his own pills,’” Shepard told Chelsea Clinton on an April 2021 episode of her podcast, In Fact With Chelsea Clinton. “Yeah, we tell them the whole thing. The proudest I am of my children ever is when they admit something and say sorry. That to me is the single most impressive thing a little person can do, because it’s the bravest thing to own your shortcomings.”

Making his kids laugh and teaching them the importance of apologizing? Shepard is the perfect dad!

These Hollywood parents are an absolute hoot.
