A new study from the UK has revealed that people get their best night’s sleep on a Tuesday evening. Using heart rate data the study concluded that whilst a mid-week sleep isn’t necessarily the longest, it is the most restorative.
The study, which was the largest of its kind, saw experts analyse 5000 men and women in the UK. It also revealed that just 48% of people found their sleep on a Friday and Saturday night rejuvenating.
Interestingly, whilst people spent more time in bed on the weekend they were more likely to have a better quality sleep on a Tuesday. On Tuesday’s you are also less likely to be affected by stress, alcohol and rich foods which are some of the most common excuses for a disrupted sleep later in the week and on the weekends.
