The 30-year-old mother-of-three regularly shares snaps and videos of herself on Instagram simultaneously nursing her 19-month-old daughter AND practising her flow.
“As far as breastfeeding yoga goes, anyone who has breastfed knows that it is a 24/7 dedication,” she captioned a recent post.
“I believe as parents it is our duty to make that time for our self because we cannot pour from an empty cup.”
Along with helping her “dive into motherhood” and become the mother she “always dreamed of,” Carlee also credits yoga with helping her bounce back from the physical and emotional effects of giving birth.
“Breastfeeding yoga has helped me combat postpartum depression and has made my breastfeeding journey free of any bumps in the road, such as mastitis, worry of lacking in supply, getting over those first few weeks of tenderness, let down control and the stresses of being needed around the clock -to name a few,” she added.
“Not only that, but it helped me get my mind out of the way and let my body soar with the possibilities and control that are naturally there.”
Of course, the posts have sparked controversy online, with many slamming the practice as offensive and unsafe.
“You’re disgusting,” wrote one user. “I hope someone reports you.” Another penned: This is just weird. And no, NOT the breastfeeding. But that you’re making it a circus trick.”
But the majority of Carlee’s followers have been blown away by her multitasking abilities, praising her for bringing “out the beauty in motherhood.”
“I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your page,” one commenter wrote. “I love that you have such a strong bond with your children and with yourself, and that you’re so down to Earth. Seriously, keep it up.”
“You’re an incredible woman and an inspiration,” another added.
