Like the famous Queen Clarisse Renaldi (aka Julie Andrews in The Princess Diaries) once said, “The Queen is never late. Everybody else is simply early.” Well, the same applies for princesses — and, actually, moms everywhere. According to a new reports Kate Middleton is “late” for the school run just like us, and it’s so refreshing to hear.

Messy Hair Days & Gym Clothes
When Princess Kate drops off or picks up her kids Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 5, from Lambrook School, she is often sporting a “down-to-earth” look according to Daily Record. An insider told the outlet, “There are no blow-dries — it’s always hair up in a ponytail.” If that’s not the truth!
But it’s even more relatable than messy hair days — the Princess of Wales is often late as well. “She’s either in her gym clothes, or a dress and sneakers, very little makeup, apologizing as she’s late for the school run before dashing off,” they continued.
“It’s the life of a working mum with three young children — just a different sort of day job to most.”
Can you imagine dropping your kids off to school, dressed in yesterday’s leggings and a stained t-shirt, messy hair in a ponytail, and running into Princess Kate looking the exact same way? It’s hard to imagine, but then again, it’s so freeing, too. I mean, why should moms have to look perfect when we take our kids to school? Princess Kate doesn’t and neither do we!

Kate Middleton Often Picks Up the Kids from School
According to the Daily Mail, doing the school run is just a normal part of life for Middleton. In fact, she was seen dropping off Prince George at St. Thomas’s School in London the day after giving birth to Prince Louis. Now that’s commitment!
She also picked up the kids from school while the rest of the family flew to Queen Elizabeth II’s side in Scotland before she passed away in Sept. 2022.

Kate Middleton Is a ‘Surprisingly Normal’ Mom
It’s no surprise that Princess Kate makes the carpool line such a commitment. According to insiders, she’s a “surprisingly normal” mom at home.
“Most people are always surprised to find that Kate is surprisingly normal,” an insider told OK! Magazine.
They added, “She prefers that people don’t fuss over her during her day-to-day life. With her royal duties, she obviously needs a little help, but at home, she likes to do things herself.”
These things include shopping, arrangng playdates, helping the kids with homework and having “dinner on the table at about 6 every night.”
She has a busy plate, and it’s no wonder she’s in a rush around the school run! So next time your kids complain that you were late to get them (again!), just remind them that even princesses get behind, too. We’re all just doing our best!
