Simon Cowell returns to our screens this weekend as Britain’s Got Talent starts its 14th season on Saturday night (8pm). Ahead of the highly-anticipated programme, the judge has explained that he, and co-star Alesha Dixon, were both tested for coronavirus.
Simon revealed that he and Alesha were tested for COVID-19 after fellow America’s Got Talent (AGT) judge Heidi Klum fell ill during filming.
AGT filming was suspended during the coronavirus outbreak, as crew aimed to prevent the spread of the infection.
Heidi became unwell, and has recently been self-isolating.
As a precaution, Simon revealed that the whole crew were tested for coronavirus.
“She’s doing great,” said Simon, when asked about the health of the actress and model.
He was subsequently pressed on whether she had tested positive for COVID-19.
“I believe so, yes,” he replied. “We all got tested, we had to.”
But, Heidi has since revealed that she actually tested negative for coronavirus.

She explained on Instagram that her symptoms weren’t caused by the infection, but were instead signs of a bad cold.
“Day 14 of staying HOME #covid_19negative”, she said.
A fan responded asking how she’s feeling, and Heidi replied: “Much better thank you.
“I just have a bad cold and trying to get over it. sending love out to you and everyone.”

Simon was recently spotted out and about, stocking up on his food at a local supermarket.
He was wearing a face mask and gloves, hinting that he wasn’t taking any unnecessary risks.
His public appearance, however, was a sign that his test results came back negative.

Common warning signs of COVID-19 include a high fever, and a new, continuous cough.
