90 per cent of the time, Meghan Markle‘s fashion sense cannot be faulted. But we have one tiny gripe: why does the Duchess of Sussex always wear shoes that look at least one full size too big?
Exhibit A: Markle’s recent Royal Ascot debut, where she wore ill-fitting black pumps with a white Givenchy shirt dress – a risky move at the best of times, but especially when you have uneven, grassy surfaces to deal with:

But according to marie claire US, there’s good reason behind Markle’s surprising footwear faux pas:
“Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they’re at an event or on the red carpet and it’s for one reason we can all relate to—to avoid blisters,” Davey told The Sun. “There’s nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes (we’ve all been there on a night out) and when celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time their feet can often swell up.”
We’re sorry we ever doubted her.
