As of Wednesday morning, the novel coronavirus has infected more than 217,718,585 people across 192 countries and territories, resulting in at least 4,519,287 deaths. In the U.S., all 50 states plus the District of Columbia have reported confirmed cases of COVID-19, tallying more than 39,198,268 illnesses and at least 640,108 deaths.

Here’s a look at the 10 states with the most cases: 

1. California: 4,360,789 cases

2. Texas: 3,612,246 cases

3. Florida: 3,223,249 cases 

4. New York: 2,278,590 cases

5. Illinois: 1,522,942 cases 

6. Georgia: 1,403,582 cases

7. Pennsylvania: 1,300,368 cases

8. Ohio: 1,220,900 cases

9. North Carolina:  1,213,654 cases 

10. New Jersey: 1,091,966 cases 

Here’s a look at the top 10 states with the most deaths: 

1. California: 65,873 deaths 

2. Texas: 57,044 deaths

3. New York: 54,254 deaths 

4. Florida: 43,979 deaths 

5. Pennsylvania: 28,235 deaths

6. New Jersey: 26,882 deaths

7. Illinois: 26,386 deaths

8. Georgia: 22,740 deaths

9. Michigan: 21,547 deaths

10. Ohio: 20,866 deaths
