Meghan Markle is smart, stunning, and about to stay “I do” to an actual prince, so naturally we want to know every single thing about her. Including what she puts on her plate each day.
The 36-year-old previously told Best Health that she mostly follows a vegan diet from Monday to Friday.
“When I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends. But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things.”
It’s a eating ethos the actor and humanitarian has shared in other interviews.
“On the weekends all bets are off,” she told Shape. “I think if you deprive yourself of anything you’re just going to crave it more, so for me it’s just finding that balance. Eating really good during the week and then treating yourself to whatever it is that you want over the weekend.”
So what does a day of eating a plant-based diet look like? In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Meghan revealed the five food items she can’t live without.
“Hummus, carrots – because I love them and so does my dog, Bogart, strangely – a green juice, almond milk, for sure, and a chia seed pudding I make every single week,” she said. “So easy, so good. I really love to cook.”
