- Abby has posted other videos of herself walking with a walker and walking in a pool.
Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller has been sharing updates with fans about her journey back to health after battling a rare form of cancer, and she just posted a new photo on Instagram documenting some pretty impressive progress. In it, the reality TV star’s feet are at the bottom of a pool. “Feels so good to stand. In the pool. In November,” she wrote in the caption.
People applauded her recovery in the comments. “Yes Ms Abby!,” wrote Dance Moms star Lilliana Ketchman. “At this rate you’ll be walking by Christmas!!” one fan wrote. Her comments section was also flooded with hand clap and heart emojis.

A pic of feet in the bottom of the pool doesn’t seem like a BFD, until you consider the fact that Abby has been mostly using a wheelchair since she was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma and had spinal surgery in mid-2018. Abby vowed in June that she’d be “walking by September” and said several physical therapists told her knee replacement surgery would help her reach her goal.
Abby blew people away in September when she actually got up from her wheelchair and walked on an episode of The Doctors. Abby shared a clip from her appearance on Instagram, natch.
In the video, she stands up slowly from her wheelchair with the help of a walker. She took a few steps with the help of the walker, and people freaked out. Check out the action here:

“Watching this made me cry!” Abby wrote on Instagram. “Thank you @thedoctorstv for letting me share my story with the world! Dr Lawrence Piro, Dr Hooman Mellomed, Dr Christopher Boudakian, Dr Simoni for your wisdom and kindness. My PT was so amazing, CRI is the best! I’m not nearly as strong as I was during this taping. I have a long way to go – if there’s 1 thing I know, it’s that I’m a fighter and there’s no such thing as ‘can’t’!”
Later that month, Abby shared another video of herself walking with the help of a walker. “BABY STEPS!” she wrote in the caption.

And just a few weeks ago, Abby shared another video of herself walking in a pool all by herself. “In my former life, I would never ever In a million years post a video of myself in a bathing suit in the pool – this felt so good and makes me so happy I had to share!” she captioned the post.
