There for their kids! Scott Disick shares three children with his ex Kourtney Kardashian, and the former couple work hard at their coparenting relationship.
“The truth is, my problems shouldn’t affect the kids,” the Flip It Like Disick star, 36, told Us Weekly exclusively on Monday, June 24. “Just because their mother and I couldn’t make it as a perfect, romantic couple shouldn’t have anything to do with the kids. They don’t deserve our mistakes, so we figured out a way. We still need to be as honest and as good to each other as if we were together. Let’s raise these children together and that’s it.”
The reality star, who shares Mason, 9, Penelope, 6, and Reign, 4, with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 40, added, “We live a few miles apart and it’s simple.”
In April, the Poosh creator opened up about the practical steps they took to get along for their kids after their 2015 split. “The hardest part was when we both started new relationships,” Kardashian said to Disick in a YouTube video at the time, referring to his girlfriend, Sofia Richie, and her now-ex-boyfriend Younes Bendjima. “That caused fights between you and I about introducing the kids. We literally had to go to therapy to be able to, like, communicate together.”
While the former twosome admitted that coparenting hasn’t always been “the easiest thing,” the Talentless creator said, “The fact that we’ve tried and made it work makes life that much better. I couldn’t imagine raising three children with somebody I couldn’t speak to every day.”
When it comes to custody agreements, Kardashian and Disick have even reached a “good place” without any attorneys’ help. “We just did it on our own and came up with our own schedule,” the Los Angeles native admitted.
Flip It Like Disick premieres on E! on Sunday, August 4.
