Active Dogs Looking for Adoring Families: Meet Bobbie and Huron

We have animals in our care that have fun hanging out with their friends at the ASPCA Adoption Center but would love families to call their own. We’d like to introduce you to two special dogs who are eager to join new homes—maybe yours!

Bobbie

Bobbie has been at the Adoption Center since February and is still searching for a home. This four-year-old gal is a bundle of fun! Bursting with energy and a zest for life, Bobbie is ready and raring to go on any adventure. Keen to be near her favorite humans, we think she would make an excellent running buddy.

When she’s not galloping around, Bobbie enjoys playing with toys too. Her favorite thing to do is rip the squeakers out of squeaky toys! She will even let you join in the fun by placing a toy on your lap as if to say, “your turn.”

This sweet girl loves attention, especially receiving belly rubs and pets from her people. When it’s finally time to relax, Bobbie will recharge her batteries lounging on the couch or preferably basking in the sun.

Her excitable nature makes Bobbie a very special lady looking for a patient adopter. She would love a home where she can be the center of attention. Her new humans should be prepared to provide her with the structure and training Bobbie needs to flourish and live her best life!

Huron

If you’re looking for a big mush, Huron is your guy! Huron considers all humans his friends, whether he’s meeting you for the first time or the 100th time he will greet you with the same love and liveliness.

Playtime is one of Huron’s favorite ways to exert his energy. Chewing on squeaky toys, batting around rope toys or playing fetch with a ball; Huron is in heaven! Playtime with his people is so exciting, sometimes this cheeky guy forgets his manners and will jump up.

He’s playful pup, but Huron can tire out quickly as it takes a lot of energy to lug his meaty body around! When Huron is worn out from activities, he’ll head on over to his humans for some snuggles and belly rubs.

Five-year-old Huron is super smart and has been learning tricks such as “sit” and “touch”, but he particularly loves showing off how good he is at “paw.” Huron would love a home where he can keep up with his education to remember his manners and flaunt his skills to his friends!

Huron does well with calm dogs off-leash, but when he sees them while out on walks he tends to lunge excitedly. This can be managed with yummy treats and walking routes where he’s less likely to see other pups. Huron would prefer a suburban home outside of the city and a fenced backyard for this goofball to romp around in! This sweet boy enjoys being loved and can’t wait to be the apple of his adopter’s eye.

Our Adoption Center is currently closed to the public, but we are excited to offer remote adoptions! If either of these big dogs seems like the perfect fit for your family, please fill in a Dog Adoption Survey and our Matchmakers would be happy to chat about these cuties. Not quite the right pooch right for you, or not in a position to adopt? You can still help Bobbie and Huron by sharing this post with your friends and family.
